How Soulful Horse Came To Be By Stef (with “f”s)

Once upon a time...in her work as a paramedic Stephanie noticed an alarming upswing in statistics involving youth suicide.  This life-long horse lover and mom of two began contemplating how to intervene and support these kids before they made these life-altering decisions.

Another life-long horse enthusiast, local entrepreneur, horse trainer and former teacher -  also known as Abbie -  found herself engaged in regular conversations about rescuing youth and horses with her sister Stephanie.  The idea of Soulful Horse emerged in January 2020.

A leap of faith

Discussions about making the dream become reality continued around families and full time jobs.  Then COVID19 struck, and like the rest of the world the dream of Soulful Horse came to a pause as we  figured out how to navigate a world-wide pandemic.

As a local junior high teacher and horse enthusiast, Steffanie had spent countless hours contemplating and researching the benefits of partnering troubled students with horses.  In June of 2020 life events steered Steffanie back to Abbie’s farm.  Whether you believe in coincidences or not, the purpose of Steffanie’s visit had nothing to do with partnering kids and horses, yet that is where the conversation took us.

Now a team of three, the dream of Soulful Horse was back in motion and quickly becoming a reality.
